Hi everyone, finished in 4:12- i was struggling in last 6 miles. the weather really took it out of me! still got a faster time than last year though. good job i had a baseball cap with me, my poor head would have been fried! john- glad u got a good time this year, u deserve it. gary text me with his time, he did incredibly well considering the conditions. i am not sure if i will do the handicap, if i do i wont be expecting any miracle times but i am definately going to have the weekend off!! see some of you at the curry house tomorrow 9pm :)

Very well done all of you!! Rach i hope you turned your cap backwards at halfway!!! I got 4 wk on Sunday till Edinburgh marathon and if one more person asks me how many miles is the edinburgh marathon i will scream!!!!! Im actually looking at the Las Vegas marathon in December!!! its 105 dollars to enter!!! been on the site but not hit send yet!!! however at the mo i think im on a bit of burn out so thats why i not been down to club this wk, hope to see you next week
I am not going to enter London next year so I will be looking at doing a different marathon. although considering i was moaning about the heat in london, could i cope in las vegas??
I know there is a Derbyshire marathon, little like the Grindleford- that could be worth doing. Will have a look out. You have done plenty of training for this marathon so I dont think it will matter too much if you take it easy this week. I did not go to the handicap either so I have to make sure I go to the next few!
Chris has posted a message to you about a 20mile run on sat- check the other thread. Rach

Rachael, heat won't be a problem in Las Vegas. The marathon was moved from January to December a few years ago to try and ensure they have better weather. Las vegas is in a Valley in the Mojave desert and surrounded by mountains which have heavy snow in winter. Generally the conditions in LV are mild and ideal for running, however every so often they have snow and ice. In 2008 in Dec it did snow over a short period in LV. A friend of mine did many years ago and it was bitter. Take a couple of thermals just in case. Las Vegas is a fantastic experience.... go for it.
Brian M guess what, they also do a half marathon ????
That really good news about Las vegas running conditions cos guess what!!! Im In it!!!!! entered yesterday and we got accomodation and flights all sorted!!!!bargain at 650 each for 7 niights in the luxor if anyone else wants to give it a go!! its on 6th Dec and apparently the temp is about 14 degrees , its a 7 a.m start!!!! Can't wait!!!
My dad told me to go for it before- and the more I think about it the more I would love to but unfortunately i have no-one to go with! Jason is only working p/t so we aren't going on holiday this year. i need to hire a companion for a week :)
