Hi all,

Its taken me over 12 months to recover fully from my achilles injury and i am now starting to work on my fitness (currently upto 3 miles comfortably)

I would like to get back involved with the striders. I was just wondering if I need to try to up my fitness before i come back or is there a group around my level of fitness that could help me.

I dont want to lose my motivation by been left behind.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

Mike

Good to see you back in the game !!

You'll be fine, even if your fitness has dropped. We have a much larger membership now compared to when you last came down. We usually split into 2 groups these days with Group A doing a bit more and a bit faster so Group B should suit you just fine while you build your fitness back up.

Hopefully see you soon

Cheers

John Smee

Hi Mike,

good to see you on the mend. Recovering from injury can be a long slow process which you shouldn't rush. We have all  been there.

Have a look at the June schedule which Les has posted on the message board and pick a session or part session that avoids hills. For example with the B&Q run you could meet the group there and do as many loops as you wish.

see you soon

Brian
