Its taken me over 12 months to recover fully from my achilles injury and i am now starting to work on my fitness (currently upto 3 miles comfortably)
I would like to get back involved with the striders. I was just wondering if I need to try to up my fitness before i come back or is there a group around my level of fitness that could help me.
I dont want to lose my motivation by been left behind.
You'll be fine, even if your fitness has dropped. We have a much larger membership now compared to when you last came down. We usually split into 2 groups these days with Group A doing a bit more and a bit faster so Group B should suit you just fine while you build your fitness back up.
good to see you on the mend. Recovering from injury can be a long slow process which you shouldn't rush. We have all been there.
Have a look at the June schedule which Les has posted on the message board and pick a session or part session that avoids hills. For example with the B&Q run you could meet the group there and do as many loops as you wish.
Hi Mike- good to hear from you and sorry for not replying to your email- i had very little signal in Wales! I am pleased to hear you are recovering well, steady goes! Be good to see you back at the club. As Brian and John have said take a look at the schedule and coem join us. there will definately be a group for you to join. See you soon
