Just interested to know has anybody else managed to keep the challenge going ?

I started on New Years Day and have run a minimum of 3 miles per day to date

January's total mileage 187

I will keep it going as long as I can but a year seems like a massive commitment

Hi Gary- Im embarressed to say I also lasted about 8 days before jacking it in.... however, if it counts I have been going to the gym twice a week which also includes a run warm up of roughly a mile so I am running more.. just not every day (digging a hole as I type)
Well done you! Thats brilliant mileage and a top effort.

Hi Gary,

We are as daft as each other.  I have run every day this year so far, although I set my minimum run at 2 miles as a more sensible target for my age. The milage and tiredness have both increased, mostly the latter.

I only intended to do it for a month just to see what it was like. The most difficult days have been when I work weekends as I leave home before 7am and I generally don't get home to 9:30pm. Running that late night was a challenge just to get out the door.

After over 2 months I think common sense is going to come in at last I probably will stop this week end and have a rest ready for the St Helens 10k. I really don't want to risk my old injury coming back.

All credit to Les who managed to do over 6 months when he was a bit younger.

Good luck and don't over do it.

Brian M

Brian I have stopped as of today, I was supposed to run on my lunch hour today only to find when I got in work that I was put on a lunch patrol, I have been struggling with a sore leg ( Tendinitis just below inside of left knee and all the way down to my shin been constantly RICE ing it ) for the last couple of weeks, I have been very stubborn and stupid and tried to run through it but I have now seen sense and intend to rest until Sat for the Grindleford 21, I will see how I get through by doing that if no improvement I will give Bernie a call, I just want to be right for London, bit gutted really as once you set your mind to running at 5 am most days you feel wide awake for the day ahead, I even got up last Sunday before going to Wembley and the next day after a 16 hour drinking session but my running mate at work said  to me  this afternoon sometimes you have to listen to what your body is telling you and this struck a cord

 63 days and out cry
