hi,

Nic and I checked out Berlin will cost about £75 return going out friday coming back monday. Can fly out saturday but that will cost £125. The half starts and finishes in Alexanderplatz, most of the hotels are now booked up but there is one about 10mins walk away that I have stayed in and recommend. Hotel Agon its 3 star and includes breakfast for about £35 per person per night. Its near to tram and tubes for sightseeing etc.

be under £200 for 2/3 nights, the only problem is we would have to pay up front unlike a travel agent (although not impressed with TC) happy to make arrangements if people are interested.

berlin sounds good- i am a little short on the cash front at the moment. sometimes with hotels you pay the rest on arrival, but understand we will have to pay for flights up front. what shall we do- send round a group email (not everyone can check website).

Carol of the Foz has found us a cracking hotel in Berlin, its called Golden Tulip and is 4* its

£216 per person including easy jet flight, leaving Fri 30th mArch returning Monday 2nd April.

Its £50 deposit each to book and I would think we need to get definate numbers by the end of the week, If you are interested in doing the Berlin half marathon also or just want to come along for the sheer fun of it then please let us know asap

BERLIN UPDATE

I have asked a friend of mine who works at Hays Travel to see what she can arrange for us and at the moment she has a flight leaving Liverpool Airport on Fri 30th March into Berlin Schoenefeld ... and returning on either the Monday 2nd April or Tues 3rd April ... the bad news being that to return on Tues is working out cheaper than returning on the Monday (on flights alone). She has compared it to accommodation costs for an extra night and still returning on the Monday would prove more expensive disbelief

Flights only (per person)

Liverpool to Berlin returning on Mon - £280.00

Liverpool to Berlin returning on Tues - £165.00

... yes, over £100 cheaper!!!

Accommodation

I have told her it is for eleven of us and thus she is looking to secure four double rooms and one triple !!!!!!!!

At the moment, rooms are coming up at approx £130 ...

What I do need to determine is that everyone does still want to go (if the price is right) as she will need to book it straight away once she confirms the hotel accommodation and price to be able to reserve.

At the moment, I have the following people as wanting to go :

Rach, Jo, Brunty, Carol, Me, Geoff, Jenny, Richard, Andy, Dave & April.

Have I missed anyone off??

By my reckoning (and I am not good at maths) with the flight and rooms we are looking at approx £230.00 (again, depending on what rates she comes back with for the rooms).

Can you please let me know as soon as possible if you are still interested biggrin

I have emailed the Hotel direct and two accommodation suppliers for rates and availability for the New Berlin Hotel. I have also asked the hotel for a better idea of location. Trip Adviser reads pretty good. Hopefully I will get a price over the weekend.

not sure if paris was gonna make it as well,,going to be struggling with time of work,, and the cost prob looking at £1,000+ for me and jo inc spend for 4-5 days,, wanted to do berlin but maybe book it next year as soon as the date is released for the half,, or maybe do a week all inc in spain,,i will marshall you all,,and hand out fruit of the loom t shirts

Santa pola (Alicante ) race still open flights are still around £67 return and hotel is around 70 euros for the 3 nights. 7 are going so far Brian. Chris , his mate, Frank , Alex, Ian and I .21st Jan depart race same day as Helsby 1/2....
