Hello i moved to rainford few months ago and do not know many people. Started running last year but not a fast runner. Looking to join something to meet new people and to keep up the running. Age 50 (just) try and run at least 3 times a week around the 3 mile mark can you help
Hello Jenny The Striders meet on a Mon/Weds at 7 00 athe Central Fitness Gym on North Road over the last weeks we have quite a few new runners, training lasts for about 1 hour we have quite a variety of sessions you will also find it much easier and safer out running with others hope to see you on Monday PS You wont be shy long
hi Jenny a spring chicken ! lots of different ages and abilities, as Frank said quite a few new members recently be nice to see you if you can make it Monday.
Sounds to me like StHelens Striders is just what you need. The sessions we do will help you to build on the hard work you,ve already done. As well as that everyone is very friendly and will chat with you when they can. As Frank says its much safer and more enjoyable to run within a group especially as Winter approaches. I joined almost a year ago and only wished I'd done it sooner.
Free parking after 6 on College Street opposite Police Station, just around the corner from Central fitness. Be there at 7, usually depart around five-past.
We will be running (slowish) up to Queens Park for the session, about a mile I think. Then running laps with rests inbeween. Then run (slowish) back to club. The number of laps and speed etc. you do can be adjusted to suit.
It would help us and you if you think you can cope okay with this. Just so that we can put a plan into place if we think its necessary beforehand to give you the best possible introduction to what we do. As previously mentioned we do have a few other new starters of varying abilities so no need to worry.
Hi jen. Can you email us at info@sthelensstriders.co.uk please with details of your running ability at the moment so we can have a look at the best session for you to join on and ensure that someone is there on your first night.
Look forward to hearing from you
Thanks
Rach
