Hi, just a ? I havent run for a long time and at 49yrs. wanted to know if it would be better for me to get myself a bit fitter befor i join. Cheers Pete.
What kind of distance can you actually do at the moment. We have had quite a few 'newbies' recently which maybe of some comfort to you. It would help if we could gauge what kind of level of fitness youre at. Sometimes our new members are more than fit enough to dive in at the deep end and sometimes not.
Hi John, Thanks for your reply.Am only doing a couple of miles at the moment and if am honest am finding that a tad hard. I would like to get a couple of weeks under my belt befor joining you.My aim being then with the help of the club and its members to go for a 5k and take it from there. Cheers Pete.
Hello Pete You are more than welcome to come down and train with us,we have a few runners who have only been running a few weeks themselves, the sooner you start training the better, don,t put off till tomorrow what you can do to-day. Hope to see you soon. FrankMc
As Frank says, no time like the present. If you can mange a couple of miles you should be okay. You will improve a lot faster with us. The temptation is to keep telling yourself youre not quite ready, you need to be a bit fitter before you come down. Plus with the other new runners you will be in good company.
Give it a go, if you then find it too much you can always come back when you feel ready. At least you'll know.
Hi John, I have to say you are right about the training. It would be more helpful to me to be with other runners who can control the pace and pull me along. With that in mind I will see you on the 13th. Thanks Pete.
Hi John, Sorry to you and Frank for missing traing on Wed.(WORK) I will be there for 7 on Mon.I am not sure what the traing is but am prepard to give it a go . Cheers Pete.
