Guys thanks for all your encouragment on both posts to be honest will be glad when its done so I can have a few pints not sure about the weather forecast will check in a mo but I know it will not compare to last weekend thank god, Well done Shaun on the tunnel 10k not an easy race Chris I know you said you may go to Chester but have since found out the route misses the town centre see below Chester Marathon Route The route is out-and-back. Runners start and finish outside the Chester Rugby club in Littleton.
From the start line the race heads through Guilden Sutton to the start of the Greenway. Just after the first mile runners are directed onto the Greenway, continuing right along a Bridle path and looping back through Guilden Sutton before rejoining the Greenway. The race then runs the length of the Greenway to the River Dee at Queensferry before joining the riverside path at the railway bridge that heads on to Blue Bridge where runners turn left outside the Corus main entrance and run the length of the Corus site road before re-joining the Greenway and heading back towards Guilden Sutton.
Runners head back to the Rugby Club for a Grandstand finish and well-earned post run celebrations!
Gary is on the way home from chester very disappointed 3 hours 17 min went off to quick did the first 13 miles in 1 hour 29 felt really good and on for a sub 3 hour 5 but at 22 miles it all went wrong cramp last 4 miles was a combination of running and walking thanks for all your support and see you Wed night
*AG Time = Age-Graded Equivalent Time. *BQ = Boston Qualifier (unconfirmed). Note, Boston Marathon qualifying times must be achieved on certified marathon course and are based on the age on the day of the Boston Marathon and not on the date of the marathon run. For these reasons, BQ status may not be properly reflected for all results.
Just wanted to say thanks for everybodys comments yesterday I am over the disappointment now and looking forward to my next attempt to break 3-15, 3-10? getting back to yesterday just wanted to say that for its first attempt is was a really well organised marathon from the registration process, the disposable timing chip incorporated in the race number, the friendly marshals, the course nearly 90% on tarmac traffic free trails, the goody bag medal and t shirt and the novel idea that if you did not fancy the full marathon you could do it as a relay by passing over your race no to your mate at 13.1 miles and finally the finish on the pitch at Chester rugby union club in front of the main stand I will defo be back next year and I predict that this race in time will become very popular
Well done in your marathon Gary crackin time i,m sure the 3 10 Marathon is not far away, by the way after the report you posted are you the PR man for the Chester Marathon. See you soon FrankMc
I wanted to thank you for the little chat we had on the way round to take our minds off things. You comments about the race are spot on. Hope you get your time next year, and me too.
