hi all,

the new website for grindleford is up and running and there is a link to a really good slide show of the whole course, it 8 mins long ( the vid that is not the run!!!) and really gives you a good idea of what your in for if ! unless you dont want to know!! best policy i think! anyway i now cant wait after seeing it again!! catch you later!

I think everyone has seen the email from grindleford regarding the weather, and that they may make all weather kit compulsary for runners. I have been having a tidy up today and I have a spare space blanket and also a charity plastic blanket (the ones they giv u to wear when waiting for the beginning of a marathon). Anyway they are surplus to requirement if anyone wants to take one in case of emergencies. I already have
one And they fold up tight. I thought I had a whistle but can't find it so I am going to buy on this week

yes there still eight of us, i have a couple too that i will take with me if anyone needs them. i did notice it also said on the site full body cover, so get the lycra out lads!!!
Also we have suggested pick up at 8a.m at waterside. apart from Roy and Chris who live nr the driver will arrange times tonite for definate. also Gary do u want pickin up in haydock on route? or are you driving to waterside? anyway see you tonite!

8 am departure at the Waterside is fine with me.

Just checked the weather for the Stoke area and looks to be cloudy and slightly warmer than it has been so far this week. Should be a good day.

Ian your legs willl thank you for it!! im keepin close eye on weather too and its dry for now!! just come in from a easy 6 miler, went gym yesterday a.m and felt tired last night so thats why i didnt come, i did beep at you all running up north rd tho!!! im also gonna run early in a.m as im only in work for 9.30 and be goin out for tea with him indoors before he goes away for a few days , so I shall see you all bright and breezy saturday morning!
p.s is everyone else not training after tomorrow? i will feel better about 2 complete rest days if every one else is doing it, and if your not then just lie to me!!! hahahaahha

Hello Jo not managed to get down the club recently things just a little hetic at the moment I can not make tomorrow due to my daughter Ellen being in hospital so staying with her at Whiston
regarding Saturday if I could be cheeky I would prefer to be picked up on route that way Sarah won't have to get the kids in the car to pick me up when I have had a couple of alcoholic beverages on the way home to aid my recovery( Chris knows where I live) if this is a problem for the driver let me know and I will walk

Ps I have checked our results from last year were you aware that you missed one of the checkpoints which resulted in you losing points which then affected your overall position ?

Gary - I hope your daughter is doing okay.

Jo - Could I have your spare space blanket for Saturday? Last gentle run tomorrow. I'm both nervous & excited!! I started watching the video & then thought I'd rather just not know.

Hi Gary, its no prob pickin you up on route, we will pick CHris n roy up first then waterside so should get to you approx 8.10, hope all is well! I dont remember missing a checkpoint idefinatly tabbed in at them all but i remember my results being right at the bottom of the list so it looks like i came last!
Clare I just did my last run round the dam, gorgeous morning, just 5 miles so thats it!! im jumping out me skin im so excited !! Clare you will love it!!

i will bring some space blankets with me on Saturday too if anyone wants one. I also have lots of flapjacks yay. Really looking forward to it now, last run tonight (hills argh), but I am taking it easy.
I must request in advance that we have a Strider picture taken- Jo I hope the driver is a good photographer!!
I still have no whistle but I have a photocopied map of the checkpoints from last time I ran it (providing they havent changed the course??)

course is exactley the same apparently!, got final emaila nd it doesnt say they are imposing the rules they said they myt so prob wont need a whistle! did last 5 mile run round dam this a.m, it was gorgeous! thats it for me. enjoy ya hills 2nite!! yea will get some good pics!
