Most of the races in the list below are fairly local. Ther are a few long distance races for the marathon training, some trail and a few further north or in the lake district.
Dentdale is well worth the drive and there is tea, food and cakes at the end.
If you are thinking of doing an event please put a single message for each race in the striders races section of the message board. If some one else is interested they should reply to the message. This way a list of races should develop with the more popular having the most replys.
