Hi everyone
Seeing as all the talk is about getting muddy, i thought i would ask if anyone was interested in putting team/s forwards for the helly Hanson Adventure Challenge Series.
Our closest one will be in the Lake District 29th March 2009. I know this is a long way off but i think teams fill up quickly.

Here is the info:

What is it?
The Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge Series is a team-adventure journey that will involve off-road running, mountain biking and kayak canoeing. There will also be some special extra challenges thrown in for good measure!

All in all, it will be a unique adventure experience that will put smiles on your face if not a little sweat and mud on the your brow!

And now, with an extended 2008/09 Series we will bring you FIVE stunning venues FIVE inspirational adventure challenges.

So what is involved?
Firstly, it is a team event involving three people. You can enter as an all-male, all-female or mixed team, but all three of you must stay together at all times and all three of you will do all of the activities and challenges together.

How far... How long?
As a general guide expect to run or jog for about 10km. That's between 6 and 7 miles in old money.

You'll cover up to 25 km of mountain biking and possibly up to 1.5km of kayak canoeing but dont think it is just as simple as this.

We like to add a few surprises and break up your journey so please don't assume that you will do each activity all in one go. And no, we won't be telling you in advance! That would spoil the fun! You'll only find out the exact sequence of activities on the morning of each Challenge Series event.

We expect the elite teams to take perhaps two and a half hours. Most teams take between 3 4 hours and many will be happy to get around the Challenge in their own time...

All fitness levels are welcome. There's no time limit and we promise there will be no limit on your enjoyment either!

By the way, our events always start at 10.00am with a pre-event registration open from 08.00am.

What equipment do we need?
Everything is included in your team entry fee APART from your mountain bike and helmet (helmets are obligatory). For this Series you'll be enjoying our brand new fleet of three-seater inflatable canoes. In fact, we're so nice we will even inflate them for you. Paddles and obligatory buoyancy aids are also included.

Don't have a mountain bike? Don't worry, we can help out here too and a special pre-bookable mountain bike hire service will allow you just to turn up at the event and 'collect and ride'.

Every course is extensively marked so you don't need to worry about getting lost, leaving you to concentrate on enjoying what's around the next corner without worrying where the next corner is!
The entry fee is £135.00* per team, though we offer attractive discounts for group or Series entries. Every finisher will enjoy an excellent goody bag courtesy of our sponsors Helly Hansen, including a special souvenir tee shirt. There will also be some excellent prizes on offer for the top-performing teams.

What does everyone think?
