Just as i was getting into doing the fast short stuff and i have to say enjoying it , my body has give way finaly. Ive been off work for the last 2 weeks totaly exhasted, drained, nothing in me. The doctor said its a cold! only joking. I'm waiting for results of a blood test but having explained to the doctor about the event ive done this year she said i deserve everything i get! very compassionate i thought. Chronic fatigue is a possibilty she said but more likely to be lazyitis. anyway it seem its gonna be a long way back, and i should think about putting my feet up for the rest of the year which at the moment is the only thing i can do.
Hope to see you all soon, if any social event come up let me know, im still ok to party but dont tell my boss!

I've heard some excuses in the past.............but a cold, not flu, I mean sniffles???

hope you will keep in touch, if you have an email and can post it - I'll keep you updated by mail - tend to send them out on occaision as a prompt.

I hope Martin was not joined to your hip and he will continue to come to the club - we can keep him on his toes, plus I need some bike tips and training.

After that 100 miles I still feel like i'm wearing my helmut and rucksack, even today. Gears are such a mystery, bit difficult to maintain same gear when undulating around Delamere - but having to use big front chain wheell (or whatever they are called) when wanting to change was like cycling up hill through mud!! I was wrong somewhere.

hope you are up and about soon, yopu can even come down for an easy run anytime just to let the legs tick over.

Curry night to be soon announced - just waiting for rugby fixtures.
Xmas meal proposed 19/12

Crikey, thought we hadnt seen you for a whille!
Best thing you can do is just rest until your body wants to start working again I guess. Not nice that you are off work as well as I guess you cant do much else?
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery

Rach

thanks for the words of encouragement.

Dawn anytime you want info on bike training feel free to ask and when im back ill be happy to do some sessions with you.

Gearing is the big one and getting used to it can be hard. not only that if ur cyling long distance well any distance for that matter you should have your bike set up right for you. ill be happy to look at this for you anytime. The bad news is cycling never gets any easier, but it does get more enjoyable

Thanks, it was quite an experience. Think I also took a leaf out of martins book when it came to writing it up!
Not sure if i'll do anything abroad again. This was made easy for me as the company paid for flights/hotel etc where as I could imagine it being quite expensive if it was self funded.
We shall see though.
Striders trip abroad sounds fun though!
Dawn- i have quite a few striders pics from Haigh Hall relay, Chorley and Sefton 5 miler. My net is playing up at the moment but when i get a chance I will send you some.
Would love to have a little pic of Paulas baby in the newsletter too! smile
