Jo has suggested I contact you for ideas about what is wrong with my foot and any tips to improve it. I have a sharp pain under my second toe when walking and running, it starts suddenly after varying distances and becomes so bad I have to stop - not great for walking to work! The pain extends all across the base of my toes out to the smallest but definitely is centred under the freaky long second one - it feels like the end of the bone is sticking out through the base of my foot. At first I just had to make sure I had cushioned soles but that doesn't seem to be working any more.
I would welcome any advice about what it may be and whether it is something I can rectify myself or if I have to be trundling off to the doctors.
hi just read about your dilemma, i knew some one who had similar symptoms, it sounds like you are suffering from capsulitis or mortons neurotoma commonly known as hammer toe.
my only advice if its any use is to see a podiatrist, but in the mean time if you are feeling a burning sensation, the good old ice for 20mins might ease
That's great thank you, I have looked them both up and am going to have to make an appointment at a podiatrist as it seems early intervention in either case is much the better option. In the meantime I shall use ice when it is bad - rest usually isn't a problem for me!
Ruth I've forwarded to Bernie also she suffers with the same sounds like denzils diagnoses may be correct :(( anyway you can text her also if she doesn't manage to get online and check here , I'll send u her
