Well to done each and everyone of you to-day at the marathon considering there was a long delay coupled with a very hilly course and the weather you all ran very well the main thing is we all got back safe n sound enjoy the Sitar take it easy see you soon.
Thanks to you all our supporters on the route! Got surprised by Les and Brian just as we came out of tunnel (how fab was that crowd there!)! I chuckled as I saw the Striders banner stuck to a bus stop at Mile 15 and got roared at by the Striders crew there! Then got shouted at by Frank at about Mile 18! Got rumbled by Frank, Les & Brian having a cheeky walk just after Mile 22 ( was taking on water and having a gel I assert!) at which point Brian got the camera out so that I had to run again! Then was really lifted at 25 and a bit miles when I saw the Strider crew again - manged to keep running really well until the end after that!
It was a really tough course - those hills sucked the life out of your legs, although all our hill training did pay off as I managed to go past a lot of people on them.
Hope all the striders are feeling well today - well done to everyone!
Legs do feel sore today, but possibly not as bad as they could do - Thanks to Bernie and the St Helens college ladies for the massage! Think I was a bit delerious at that point so probably didn't thank them very well at the time!
Hope you had a good night at the Sitar? I only managed half a glass of wine as I was too sleepy!
A well earned restful day today - see you all soon (definitely won't be down the club tonite!!!!!)
big massive huge thank you's to all the support crew yesterday!! It was fantastic to see the strider banner on the bus stop at mile 15 and there you were again at the end!! frank Brian and Les thank you for the shout out of encouragement through the parks, i was most definately suffering from flexing my toes at mile 16 which then resulted in cramp in both legs for the remaining 10 mile! ( thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!)
Big thanks to Bernie and the therapy crew for letting me whinge, scream and cry on the massage bed!!! and the coffee that stopped me shaking !!
All in all, it was a good day and a lovely civilised evening, thanks all you marathon runners for the months of fun and camaraderie on saturday morning long runs!!
bring on the saturday morning 'short' mud runs now!!! watch this space!
Sore today but not injured, obviously won't be donw the club tonite but hope to see you for a light session on wed if our invite to the opening night at Spice inn doesn't cme through that is!!!
Jo xx

I am made of all the days you don't see, not just the 1 that you do .......:)
Well done everyone you were a credit to the club and yourselves. The delayed start and hills made it a tough one. I managed to get photos of most of you and will get copies to you as soon as I can.
Sorry Ged you were too quick at the first photo stop and you had already passed when we moved and rejoined the runners near Sefton park.
Just wanted to say how much of a success I thought yesterday was- aside from the delay etc we all did really well, and it was lovely knowing there was so many of us out there representing the club (both running and supporting!). Nic and carol did more than their share- including some first aid so well done you!
Brian I didn't see you at all- maybe I didn't recognise you with a helmut but I spotted les and frank. Apologies if I didn't acknowledge you, but thank you for taking some pictures. I have a cd of pictures which I hope to give to John to upload to the site.

I agree the support we had yesterday was brilliant. Coming out of the tunnel to all the drums, crowds & then seeing Frank, Les & Brian was one of my highlights. I had to make myself slow down a bit as the atmosphere was making me feel like I was going for the finish line. Carol, Nic & everyone at mile 15 I think everyone around me thought I was mad as I was waving wildly as I approached all of you. I'm sure a few people were laughing as well when Shaun had to pass the gel to me relay style!! It really was such a boost seeing everyone again in Sefton Park when I was feeling the pain even just for the laugh when Les told me I was looking good at mile 24 when obviously I wasn't!! finally I need to apologise to Carol & everyone at mile 25 the pain meant I hardly even acknowledged your shouts. Don't worry I heard them & they really helped getting through that last mile when I thought the end would never come.
All in all a great day & great to be part of our club!
