Hi Rach

Thanks for the support and advice about the temperature 21 deg C is forecast phew!! Its quite ironic how most of your training runs are in freezing cold temperatures then come the big day its hotter than the Costa Brava.

I suppose you have to use common sense and adjust your pace to suit the conditions, I think a fast time may be out the window I will see how I am feeling as the race progresses, wear my striders vest with pride smile.gif and just enjoy the day.

Will post how i got on asap

Ta

Andy

Hi Everyone

Got back from London an hour ago.

Official chip time on Virgin website is 3.15.45, pity i didn't get under 3.15 would have qualified as good for your age. Set off well reached half marathon split in 1.33 , caught up with Ken Hill and his mate Mark at 11 miles they were on 7.10 mile pace for a 3.10 finish, didn't see John they said he dropped back a few miles before I joined them. however I dropped off at 19 miles legs started to get heavy the last 4 miles seemed like a eternity, probably needed a few more long runs under my belt.

Still I am really pleased with my time and as some of you know the atmosphere and support was fantastic really helped me in the last 4 miles.

I won't be down Monday but will be down Wednesday hopefully, I don't think I will be running the handicap just watching.

Andy

Wow!! Andy that's fantastic, really good time considering you have not ran a marathon in such a long time. Bet those 45 seconds seem like a hurdle but I bet you can beat it ib the future. Enjoy your rest and hopefully see u on wed- are u coming for a curry?

Brian

Thank you

If you go to the Virgin London Marathon website all the times are on including splits, just type in the persons full name. Think from memory Ken was 3.09
