I had an interesting race this morning, I set off at 09:30 for a 10:30 start lots of time to travel 35 miles? I got a little lost and managed to get to the designated car park at 10:25 and I was feeling quite relaxed until a female marshal said to me you had better get a move on, the start was 1/2 a mile away I got there in time for the horn
Race was quite a mix of country lanes,canal paths,fields,and through woods etc I got to the 10k marker at 41 min 38 sec but got to the finish line in 42 min 51 seconds I could not work this out either at about 6k the runners from the 5k fun run joined up with the 10k? Got to the car and noticed I had a medal for the fun run but thought what the hell
I hope next week goes a little more smoother? I will do this race again because it was good fun I came 17th out of 325 and know I can do much better but I now still need a fast 10k for the Grand Prix I need Penny Lane to get sorted I have decided to invest in to getting a laptop submitting posts by mobile phone is a pain Gary C
hi gary- it would not be a good race unless you got lost before hand! Sounds like a nice course anyway. Not sure what happened at your finish- sometimes races don't always go as planned, but as long as you enjoy it thats the main thing. i need a fast 10km too- let me know if you find one! gutted penny lane has been cancelled. I wonder why. Does anyone know?
