Ran the Sheffield Half this morning in 01:47:37 which was just a little bit slower then the Liverpool early on this year. I am just so tired though! i didnt really enjoy the race, i never felt settled or comfortable, and my legs started to ache quite quickly which i guess is a sign of recovery from the marathon. I have more blisters today than when I ran the London too! Think I was slightly ambitious to do a half so soon after but we learn things the hard way dont we? Hd to go straight to bed when i got back which is not like me at all!
Good crowd though, weather was nice and cool, bit of rain but no wind so i am guessing alot of people would have got a good time. my only defence is that it is quite an undulating course, but i did run it in a faster time than last year. will see how i am feeling tomorrow before i decide to come training, also if we run out of petrol i guess i should not be making the sixteen mile round trip to the club!!
Well done Rach!! Thats a crackin time considering what youve been thro!! like ive said, i could barely walk downstairs a week after London!!! so you done really well!! Well I did me last 20 miler on Friday straight from work, 3 hrs 12 which was 13 mins quicker than 1st time i did 20 mile about 7 wk ago and not injured and hardly any stiffness yesterday, so am pleased with that! Might not come to club tho tomorrow night as Ive got loads of packn to do , so i might run after work and get it done, I dont want to miss the handicap on wed! is it Sankey valley can anyone reveal??? if it is I will run to club and then im only up the road after handicap, well done les and Darren for your races! was that whitley as in whitley bay , newcastle??
