Chris, John and Rach Just wanted to say good luck for Sunday Chris/Rach enjoy the day once it is over you will be on such a high, John you have been there before. I will be watching the BBC so all wave as you pass the cameras. I am hoping to return to club nights from next Monday but I expect it might be a few weeks before I see you three. Rach let me know by text if you sort out anything regarding going out for celebration meal ? I am off work for 4-5 weeks so my access to the internet is limited. Best Wishes again Gary C
Thanks for the good luck messages, we are guaranteed two P Bs, i am hoping not to get a P W. RACH and CHRIS enjoy your run , dont worry if your start doesnt seem to be the pace you are looking for, a slower start will stand you in good stead for later in the race. The word i always say to fellow marathoners is RESPECT , 26 miles is a long way to run. Take care John.
Best of luck to the 3 of you!! Dont forget to break out the Jelly Babies!!! RAchael txt me your fiinish time, I will be itching to know how you got on!!! take care all and enjoy!!!
Bad day at the office. I was 7.30 miling up to 16 then the wheels came off big style. That wall i hit was the hardest i have ever hit ,it was jog walk from 19 onwards. My finish time was 3 52 aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. See you soon John
Oh nooooo! Hope you feel ok John? I have to say I was lucky enough not to hit a wall (thank goodness). I have just checked the results online and I think I have been lying to you all abou my time! The website says 04:16:24- my watch was on auto pause so when i had to queue for the loo and say hello to my parents/jason etc the timer stopped! so i actually had 8 minutes of pause throughout the run! bit disapointed that my time is now longer but never mind. wont be at training tonight, ste and claire suggested having a later meal on wed so those who want to run first can do- is 8:30 ok?
Rach, thats still a fantastic time!! John, it just goes to show you never know what this distance is going to throw at you , but You got out and did it, very well done !! Rach, I was planning to come to meal on Wed but am having finishing bits of work done on Wed t time and its not gonna be done by then, so will have to give it a miss, sorry. Saw Paul at work on Saturday and he was asking is it couples going, I said i thought not and he said he would go if thats the case. Im not training tonight as went out and did a 10 hill rep sesh of Moss bank hill this a.m, and wont be there on Wed due to having work done. SO see you next week, Hope your not too sore after yesterday!!
Hi Les I got your message thanks, did not have your number so could not call u back....... Spoke to Dawn and we were thinking of going somewhere in st helens instead so we could do a short training session before hand. Meal will still be @ 8:30- hope that is ok? If you went to training tonight hopefully you would have already spoken to her?
Well done to all of you, the aches and pains should be easing now. John you did two marathons, the first was getting through the training with your injury. Rach it can't have been that hard if you have entered for next year so soon. How did Chris and Ken get on? Unfortunately I can't go to the meal on Wednesday, enjoy and see yo next week. Again well done.
Did Chris do the race?I looked for his name and then searched by club and could only find John and Rach. I've sent the race report in, sorry if I've missed you out Chris.
